In Richmond BC, there's an amazing outdoor adventure park called Terra Nova. The award-winning playground is right on the coast, so there's gorgeous ocean views (not a swimming spot, though). It features a zip line, lots of slides and swings, climbing structures. Parking is free, and so is everything else. No food on site; bring a picnic.
