Sea to Sky Parents: WELCOME!

Welcome! This webpage/blog is designed to help parents in the sea to sky (or visiting the sea to sky) to navigate dayd-to-day life with kids...

Shopping

There's plenty of big box stores in Squamish (London Drugs, Walmart, Canadian Tire, etc). If you live further north, online shopping is likely a close friend. Walmart will deliver for free. Here I'm just listing a few kid-specialty shops that are small, local, and worth a visit.

Before you buy new, consider buying used! There's a thriving set of buy'n'sell pages on facebook: Pemberton Buy Sell & Swap Baby and Kids; Pemberton Big Kids Buy Sell 'n Trade Ages 6+ .... etc. Search around and you'll find plenty more for Whistler and Squamish, including sites specifically for bikes. My point is: Facebook buy'n'sell is hot.

Pemberton

The used-clothing store has a tiny but worthwhile selection of kids clothes and shoes. The pharmacy has a toy section that punches above its weight for a small shop in a small town. Bike co has kids bikes, scooters, stroller attachments for bikes etc.

Very small but reasonably entertaining farmer's market in the outdoor barn Friday afternoons (seasonal).

Whistler

There's a Hatley (for PJs!) and GAP (for clothes). Locally there's Mountain Kids Outfitters (for helmets, ski wear etc), Circle Kids (same). The Clearance Centres can have amazing deals on new helmets, goggles, outerwear... Whoola Toys is tucked away between the Library and the IGA.

The Great Glass Elevator is a fantastic candy shop!!!! Right by the playground to burn off energy afterwards.

The re-use it centre at Nesters can be great for books, board games, clothes, outerwear, shoes, skis, skates, mitts, goggles, etc. Often there isn't much choice, but if you find something good it can be amazing. Many of the schools donate their unclaimed lost-and-found here.

Squamish

Kaos Kids downtown has lots of lovely clothes. For second-hand clothes, try the tiny but worthwhile Bo&Co.
